What's actually on your roof — and what each part does.

Solar Panel / Module

Converts sunlight into DC electricity using photovoltaic cells. Panels are rated in watts (e.g., 540W) and wired together in strings to reach your system's total capacity.

Inverter (String vs Microinverter)

Converts the DC electricity from panels into AC electricity your home can use. A string inverter handles a whole row of panels at once and is the standard choice for most rooftops; microinverters attach to each panel individually and help when your roof has partial shading.

Mounting Structure

The frame that holds panels to your roof at the correct tilt and orientation. Structures are engineered for local wind loads and roof type — RCC, metal sheet, or tile.

DCDB / ACDB

The DC Distribution Box sits between panels and inverter, housing fuses and surge protection on the DC side; the AC Distribution Box sits between inverter and your home wiring, protecting the AC side and connecting to your net meter.

Net Meter

A bidirectional meter installed by your DISCOM that measures both the power you import and the power you export, so your bill reflects the net difference.

Earthing & Lightning Arrestor

Earthing protects your system and household wiring from electrical faults; a lightning arrestor gives the system a safe path for a lightning strike, protecting both equipment and people.

Cabling

DC cables (UV- and weather-resistant) connect panels to the inverter; AC cables connect the inverter to your ACDB and meter. Proper cable sizing keeps energy losses low over the system's 25-year life.

Net-Metering Agreement (DISCOM)

The formal agreement with your electricity distribution company that allows your system to export power to the grid and be billed on a net basis — required before commissioning.
